Albany-- APD and units from Lee State Prison mounted a search for two young girls who were reported missing from a dentist's office, only to discover them in a nearby apartment.

Ten-year-old Dionna Reed and her niece, three-year-old Kiana Reed were reported missing about 11:15 this morning.

The girls were at Glover Dental Centre, 2607 Gillionville Road, for dental appointments. Dionna had finished her appointment, and Kiana was about to see the dentist, when they went out to the parking lot to place their book bag in the car of Hazel Wimbush, who is the mother of Dionna, and the grandmother of Kiana.

When the girls did not come back, Wimbush went to the car, and found the book bag inside, and the car door closed, but no sign of the children.

Meanwhile, a Postman who was delivering mail nearby said he saw girls who matched their description in the parking lot of Building C of the Glen Arms Manor Apartment complex.

Turns out, the pair had gone to the apartment of a family friend, and they were found there, safe.

APD sent out mounted patrols and cruisers to search the area, and bloodhounds from Lee State Prison were called in to assist.
