Albany armed robber arrested

March 19, 2004

Albany -- An Albany man is arrested for robbing a convenience store, when he is spotted at another store just a few miles away.

34-year-old Alturo Pasco was arrested and charged with armed robbery Thursday morning. Investigators say a man matching his description robbed the Flash Foods Store on East Oakridge Drive at 2:45 AM. The clerk saw him drive off in a red car and got part of his tag number.

She reported the robbery to the clerk at the Flash Foods Store on East Ogelthorpe. About two hours later, Pasco showed up at that store, and police were called.

Lt. Kenn Singleton of the Albany Police Department said "The clerks do talk when things like this happen. And that's good. And possibly she did call this other store that was open at this time. When he did see the suspect in the vehicle fitting that description drive up, that's when he called the Police."

Pasco was stopped leaving the second store, and was identified by the clerk from the first store. He did not have a gun or money with him when arrested.
