Albany- One of the chief safety inspectors for the Albany Fire Department has been arrested for taking sexual photographs and videotapes of children, including a 7-year-old female member of his family.
Thirty-seven-year-old David Lockett was arrested Friday night, charged with child molestation and sexual exploitation of a child. Investigators say he had thousands of child porn pictures, some of which he took himself.
The Lee County Department of Family and Children Services contacted the district attorney about Lockett in November. "The subject had been involved in videotaping a 7-year-old member of his family," said District Attorney Ken Hodges. "We started investigating and found that information along with a number of photographs of children under the age of 17. Young girls in inappropriate and lewd content in those photographs."
Hodges says there are possibly more victims in this case, and he is asking anyone with knowledge of Lockett to call the district attorney's office. David Lockett is being held in the Dougherty County Jail without bond.
A member of the Albany Fire Department since 1997, he is on suspension, with pay, pending a finding by the grand jury.
