Valdosta - Some South Georgia students are giving to a good cause.

Elementary students at Valwood School in Valdosta presented a check for $10,831.00 to the American Heart Association Monday. The money was raised during this year's Jump Rope for Heart Campaign.

"The fifth graders decided that $5,500.00 was a good goal for this year and we actually raised almost $11,000.00," said Sarah Dewar, P.E. Coach.

The money raised will go towards heart disease treatment and educational resources.
