Valdosta man arrested for robbery

Waycross - A Valdosta man held a business up at gunpoint, then led police on a chase.

Forty-two year old Bobby C. Jones robbed Hardin Insurance Agency in Waycross around 3:30 Wednesday afternoon. He fled the scene in a getaway car and was chased by an officer with the Waycross Police Department.

Jones crashed the vehicle a few miles away and was taken into custody. He's charged with aggravated assault, robbery, use of a firearm by a convicted felon and use of a motor vehicle in a crime.

Jones was on parole after being sentenced to 10 years in prison for burglary and aggravated assault in Lowndes County.
