Milledgeville--The Deerfield-Windsor Lady Knights claimed their fourth girls basketball state championship Saturday with a 41-21 win over Central Fellowship.
The win capped off a perfect undefeated season for the Lady Knights who finish the 2003-2004 season at 28-0.
Deerfield-Windsor trailed 13-12 at the end of the first half, but turned up the intensity in the second half holding Central Fellowship to just 8 points.
Junior Michelle Young led the way for Deerfield-Windsor with 11 points. It's the Lady Knights first state title since the 2000 season and second under head coach Larry Collins.
Deerfield-Windsor also went undefeated during the 1988-89 season under the current boys coach Gordy Gruhl.
