Valdosta - Heart health care is stepping up a notch at one South Georgia hospital.
South Georgia Medical Center just opened a new all-digital cardiac catheterization lab. The state of the art equipment helps doctors see the heart more clearly, and reduces the amount of radiation patients and staff are exposed to.
"By being able to take better pictures we can make better decisions about what to do for our patients," said Dr. Trey Powell.
The new lab cost an estimated 1.2 million dollars and was paid for with a hospital grant.
