Thomasville - Members of Christ Community church in Thomasville have been praying 11 years for the right time to start a Christian school. They say that time is now.
"It's time, and it's hard in life to know exactly what God's will is, but it seemed like the Lord was leading us to start a Christian school," Daniel Mitchell.
A school where math, science, and history are part of the curriculum, but the Bible is the foundation of what students will learn.
Head Teacher Gail Danner says, "I know what a blessing it is to freely and openly be able to share with students science, history and reading and all of the different subjects through the Christian world view."
A world that isn't always open to the Christian viewpoint. Mitchell says, "We want to prepare Oak's of righteousness so that when these storms come up they'll be able to withstand those storms."
Storms that will take more than math and science to get through.
Only grades Kindergarten through third will be taught this upcoming school year. Thomasville Christian School is hosting an open house Monday and Tuesday night from 7:00PM to 8:30 PM.
