Baconton - A federal judge ordered the City of Baconton to re-open qualifying for the March election.

During the last qualifying day on January 30th, City Clerk Janice Yager went home 30 minutes before closing time. She had another employee take over, but he was in and out.

Several interested city council candidates showed up to qualify, but the door was locked.

Qualifying will re-open Tuesday morning from 8:30 until noon.

Potential candidates must bring proof that they tried to qualify on January 30th.
