Truck crashes into ambulance

Tift County- A small pickup truck was traveling East on Carpenter Road when the driver tried to stop at a stop sign.

Troopers say his load was too heavy, and the truck struck a Colquitt County ambulance.

"There was a student that was just doing a ride along with them. She was shook up and they transported her Colquitt County to the hospital," says Trooper Dana Harnage.

The student suffered minor injuries. The driver, 19 year old Newton Howell, III of Ty Ty is charged with driving too fast for conditions.
