    The officers and deputies were taught how to safely train their departments officers in the safe and effective use of Tasers. Once they have completed and passed the two day course, these officers will return and teach their fellow officers.

Waycross - A Ware County High School teacher has been arrested for having sex with a 15-year-old student.

Fifty-six year old James Kurtz is an English teacher at Ware County High School. He's has taught 9th and 12th grade English at the school for 11 years.

Investigators say he had sex with the 15-year-old girl on school property, and it's been happening for several months.

"From the information we have now, it looks like its been ongoing since this past August," said Waycross Police Chief Jim Blackburn.

Kurtz is charged with statutory rape, sodomy, enticing a child for indecent purposes, child molestation, and sexual assault of a person in custody.

He has been placed on administrative leave.
