Camilla - The police officer who caused a head-on collision will not be charged, but will be listed at fault.

Troopers say Camilla Police Officer Garrick Murray was not on a call and was speeding when he hit this Malibu. The driver, 34-year-old Beryl Peoples, has been upgraded to fair condition.

Witnesses told troopers an unknown car pulled out in front of the officer and he swerved, lost control and hit Peoples car head-on.

The officer was not wearing his seatbelt, but was released from the hospital.

Murray was working off-duty at the Mitchell-Baker basketball game.
