Valdosta - A South Georgia police department receives state recertification.
The Valdosta Police Department has been recertified by the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police. An assessor reviewed the department last September. They were judged on 115 standards, from policies and procedures to weapons training.
The department was initially certified in 1999 and is up for recertification every five years.
