Valdosta- After snapping a five game losing streak to arch-rival West Georgia on Saturday, 12th ranked Valdosta State showed no signs of a letdon in a 74-61 win over Lincoln Memorial Monday night at the VSU Complex.
Valdosta State held the Railsplitters to seven first half field goals as the Blazers built a 35-18 halftime lead.
Senior Ernest Scott had 16 points and eight rebounds while freshman Will Thompson from Lowndes High sank four of six three point attempts to finish with 18 points.
Valdosta State hit 10 of 19 three point attempts as the 12th ranked Blazers are now 14-1 and 4-0 in the Gulf South Conference.
The Valdosta State Lady Blazers won their third GSC game by holding on to beat the Lady Railsplitters 49 to 48.
Danielle Hernandez scored 12 points for Valdosta State and and Candice Ferrell added 10 as the Lady Blazers are now tied with West Florida for second place in the GSC's Eastern Division behind first place West Alabama (4-0).
The Blazers and the Lady Blazers will stay at home for two more games with West Alabama coming to the Complex on Saturday and Montevallo on Monday.
