George W. Cook

SMsgt. George W. Cook, USAF (Ret.), 66, of Albany, died suddenly on Sunday, January 18, 2004. His funeral service will beTuesday at 2:00 PM at Sunnyside Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery with full military honors. The Rev. Dr. John Townsend will officiate.

A native of Kings Mountain, NC, he had lived in Albany since 1982. He was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church and Brother John’s Sunday School Class. Mr. Cook was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War, serving for 27 years in the U. S. Air Force.

Survivors include his wife: Sandra K. Cook, Albany; 2 daughters: Shari Lea Cook, Valdosta, Sandi D. Cannon and her husband Neal, Albany; 2 granddaughters: Jennifer Lea Borja, Athens, GA, Amanda Lea Borja, Valdosta; 2 brothers: Robert Luther Cook, Supply, NC, Lonnie Cook, Laurel Hill, NC; a sister: Evelyn Stutts, Spartanburg, SC.

The family will receive friends at Kimbrell-Stern Monday from 7-8:30 PM. Those desiring may send memorials to Sunnyside Baptist Church, 320 Mock Rd., Albany, GA 31705, or to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 1923, Albany, GA 31702.
