APD looking for illegal dumpers

January 14, 2004
Albany- If you dump your garbage somewhere you're not supposed to, you could go to jail.

Kalthea Hudson is accused of illegally dumping this garbage on this dirt road close to Radium Springs Road.

Wednesday, Albany Police Department had a warrant for her arrest. They found her name on mail in the garbage pile.

"We cite anyone we can find that's illegal dumping and that we can tie them to the material that's been left," said Julia Bowles, executive director of Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful. "Washing machines, tires, household garbage. It's not only unsightly, but it's a health hazard."

Illegal dumping is a misdemeanor and you can spend up to one year in jail.

If you see someone illegally dumping, report it to police. Don't try to approach the person on your own.
