Albany - City leaders across the state want more control over sales tax money, but County Commissioners say "No Way." The Georgia Municipal Association is urging lawmakers to convert the SPLOST into a joint city-county tax which would allow city leaders to veto any project.

Monday, Dougherty County commissioners said they're against any changes that would allow city leaders to throw out county projects. So, they're writing a letter to GMA in opposition of the tax veto.

The County Attorney says the County and City have worked well to share tax money and the power to veto could hurt county projects.
