Albany-- An Albany native gets the number two job at the Chamber of Commerce.

Wendy Martin is the new Albany Chamber Vice President.

Martin was selected from an applicant pool of 81 candidates from across the country.

She was picked not only because of her work experience, but her knowledge of her hometown, "I have lived in the Albany area all my life and after working here and playing here and shopping here and serving here, as Tim said I served on a number of leadership and civic positions here, I think I understand fully the opportunities and challenges ahead of us."

Martin served as an elected school board member for 12 years. She also served as a member of the Chamber Board of Directors.
