Albany- Friday, a federal jury in Albany acquitted a Dougherty County jailer of charges he beat an inmate and lied during the investigation.

The jury found Santos Ruizgonzalez not guilty on all five counts. He was accused of knocking a handcuffed man unconscious.

Ruizgonzalez testified he acted in self-defense. Several other jail employees testified there's an unspoken code that they'll lie to protect fellow officers.
