Mayor signs Prayer Day Proclamation

January 9, 2004

ALBANY - Prayer partners of the mayor were present Friday as he signed a proclamation for Prayer Day in the City of Albany.

Mayor Tommy Coleman will have breakfast next Thursday at Merry Acres with community members.  It's part of the National Day of Prayer.

Gwynett Miller, who witnessed the signing, said, "There's an old saying: If you pray together, you stay together. And I believe in prayer, because the prayer of a righteous man availeth much."

Mayor Tommy Coleman told the group he doesn't think there is any other event that is more important in bringing the community together.
