Armed robbers caught on tape

January 7, 2004

Albany - An Albany liquor store is robbed, and now Police are warning other businesses to watch out for the armed robbers.

A surveillance video shows the armed robbery at Tate's Liquor Store on Sylvester Road Tuesday afternoon. You can see as one man pulled a gun on the store clerk. He demanded she open the cash register, while the other man stole some liquor and cigarettes. The masked duo also took a money box before running out the door.

Albany police think the men cased the store and fear they may rob again. "The key thing is just be aware of what's going on around you. If you see a suspicious person hanging around the business or a car outside the business, give the Albany Police Department a call. We'll come out and check things out," said Lt. Kenn Singleton, APD.

There have been three armed robberies in Albany in the last two weeks, but Police wont say if they're connected.
