I.D. theft case crosses international waters

January 6, 2004

Arlington-- It's a case of international identity theft right here in South Georgia.

24-year-old DeLawerence Elliott Moses of Arlington is in trouble for stealing the I.D. of a man in Germany. Police were notified by the German man last week after he was denied a loan because of more than $400 in overdue charges on a BellSouth bill.

Police found the German man's I.D. and credit card, as well as a letter from BellSouth, in a home where Moses was staying. They think Moses got the information when the German man lived in Arizona more than a year ago. Moses is charged with false identification and theft of services and lost property.
