Albany - If you do decide to drink on New Year's Eve, we have some hangover cures to make the first day of 2004 less painful.

Experts at the Medicine Man's Corner have these tips:

  • Drink Gatorade to replenish electrolytes.
  • Hit the honey, the more fructose the better.
  • Eat fruit or drink fruit juices.
  • Do not take aspirin before drinking because it makes alcohol hang around longer.
  • Skip salty snacks like pretzels because they just make you thirstier.
  • Before you go to bed, drink water.
  • Of course, the fool-proof way to avoid a hangover is not to drink at all.
