Valdosta - First District Congressman Jack Kingston shared memories of his trip to Iraq with South Georgians today.

Kingston recently spent a week in the Middle East touring several military bases and hospitals. He says the eye-opening experience reassured him that the troops agree with the president's decisions and are proud to be serving overseas.

"Most of them are very young, but they're pleased with the mission and they're glad to be there," said Kingston.  "They aren't bothered by missing Christmas or Thanksgiving or their birthday."

Kingston also stopped at Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany and Walter Reed Military Hospital.
