Mitchell County- Troopers at the Thomasville state patrol post troopers say they lead the state in the number of traffic-related fatalities.

The latest happened Friday afternoon around four o'clock. Troopers say 16-year old James Christopher Miller, of Camilla, was traveling south on Chestnut Road just 15 miles west of Pelham.

Miller lost control of his 1998 Nissan Maxima. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.

Troopers say they do not think speed was a factor, but say Miller was not wearing a seatbelt.
