Cordele-- Two teenagers caught robbing a jewelry store try to run over a police officer, and he opened fire on them.
An 18-year-old and 16-year-old were seen breaking into Friedman's Jewelers around 1:00AM Friday. When police showed up, the robbers jumped into their car and drove toward a police officer.
The officer fired at them, but they weren't hit and took off south.
Police chased them to Warwick where they caught them. 18-year-old Demetrius Burgess and the 16-year-old are in jail.
