Moultrie - A merchants association is spreading Christmas cheer, using fish. Wednesday was the annual Hog Eye City fish fry at Spence Field in Moultrie.

Political leaders, merchants and law enforcement agencies came together to eat a free fish lunch. Three merchants, including Joe Clark, started the event 25 years ago. Clark says, "Some of us where looking for something to do around Christmas to cheer everybody up. The first time we had about 50 people there it has sort of grown down through the years and now we are expecting 300."

There are more than 30 Hog Eye Merchants. The organization raises money for the Colquitt County 4-H livestock program.
