Cordele-- A huge distribution center that would have created more than 400 jobs for Crisp County is going south.

Family Dollar considered this site in the Crisp County Industrial Park for its new regional distribution center. But instead, the company is locating in Marianna, Florida. City Commissioner Jimmy Black says, "And we've got a lot of land and the infrastructure in place. We are just going to have to work hard next time to show them the kind of community we are. We need to pull together and bring industry in." The plant would have initially created 425 jobs with possibly another 300 later.
