Albany -- While you're out buying those expensive Christmas gifts make sure to keep an eye out for thieves. Self defense instructor Chris Morton says anyone can learn simple defense techniques. He says you can use items you usually carry with you like keys or a hair brush to defend yourself. " Like I said you dont want to panic," say Morton, who teaches self defense at Elite Self Defense.  "You are going to panic if get attacked, but if  you react correctly you can survive," he says. Morton says if your attacker has a weapon don't try to fight just throw the item over his head and try to escape in the opposite direction.
