Cairo - Dancers from the South Georgia performing arts center performed "The Nutcracker" for students at Cairo high school.

Students from Thomas and Grady counties attended the ballet. "It's a Christmas tradition here in Cairo, so it's entertaining and it's so fun," says dancer Shelley Spooner, who will portray "Clara" in the performance.

Director Alison Bundrick says, "Because it is a holiday tradition, I think it's one of those things that gets people into the Christmas spirit."

Performances will be open to the public this Saturday at 7:30 and Sunday at 2:30 at Cairo High School.
