Albany- Jarvita Parker was named the 2003-2004 National Cover Miss in the National American Miss pageant.
This is the first year the pageant has offered the title and the very first pageant Parker has ever competed in.
"It took a while to sink in. I was like man I'm one of the top 10 most beautiful and intelligent women in the country. How many people get to say that. it took a couple of days because I wasn't necessarily used to it," she says.
Parker also brought home seven other awards. She says she plans to use her title to advocate for Georgians with disabilities.
