Bainbridge - Butler originally told investigators that 2-year old Jamira Washington choked to death on November 19th. However, an autopsy revealed she died from abdominal trauma.

Butler later admitted to hitting the toddler in the head and stomach. An hour later he found her in cardiac arrest.

Investigator James Spooner says, "He got angry with the child, because she had soiled her pants and made a mess in the living room, and while he had her in the back cleaning her up, he got angry and struck her several times."

The child's mother, Doretha Washington was at work at the time of the death. Butler is in the Decatur County Jail. If convicted, he faces up to life in prison.
