Albany - A personal friend of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will speak at Albany's annual King celebration.

District Attorney Ken Hodges announces, "We are so elated to be able to announce Representative John Lewis from Atlanta will be a keynote speaker at the MLK event Monday, January 19th. He is the last living speaker in the march on Washington and was such a vital role player in the civil rights movement and we are so lucky to have him and we're looking forward to hearing from him."

The Martin Luther King celebration dinner and event will be at the Albany Civic Center.

The money raised is split between the Albany Civil Rights Movement Museum and a children's organization.
