Albany-- South Georgians give generously to the WALB-TV Food Drive for the Hungry.

This is some of the food that people donated last week. The food will be donated to the Salvation Army, to provide Holiday dinner for families in need in Albany.

Cadet Mike Harris of the Salvation Army said "The giving in this community is wonderful. I never cease to be amazed. At what people do to help the less fortunate. Especially this time of the year. If we could help over seven thousand people this Christmas, that would be wonderful."

The Salvation Army in Albany provided nearly six thousand meals last year.
