Albany - Middle School students buzzed in against each other on Wednesday in the Academic Bowl.

For four hours, a half a dozen Dougherty County Middle School teams answered questions about math, science, language arts, sports and politics.

Robert Cross Middle School was undefeated, beating Merry Acres, last year's winners. Robert Cross' team captain, William Kress, says, "It's been pretty tough, yeah and it's been a lot of competition. It's been scary, but it's been fun too."

Robert Cross, Merry Acres, third place Dougherty Middle and fourth place Albany Middle advance to the regional competition in January in Moultrie.
