Pearson - A counterfeiting and forgery ring is busted in Atkinson County.

Thirty-three year old Miguel Saavedra was arrested for making counterfeit bills, false social security cards, and drivers license. Investigators say he made more than $150.00 in counterfeit 20 dollar bills that were passed in several Atkinson County stores.

Fifty-year-old Deborah Mosher of Willacoochee and 17-year-old Nicky Griffin of Willacoochee were arrested for using the counterfeit money. They're both charged with forgery and bonded out the Atkinson County Jail.

Saavedra, an illegal immigrant, is still in jail charged with possession of tools for the commission of a crime, forgery, and manufacturing and selling of false documents.
