ALBANY - Holiday traveling became a headache for some drivers this afternoon after a semi wreck.  Traffic had to be detoured around a busy interchange many motorists use to travel to Cordele and Tifton to access Interstate 75 from Albany.

Danny Walker, 48, of Gordon, attempted to turn right onto the Southbound Liberty Expressway on-ramp and overturned, closing down both the on and off-ramp at Clark Avenue for more than four hours.   Traffic was rerouted at the busy interchange just after noon Saturday after the crash spilled dry chemicals onto the road.

Workers had to use two tow-trucks and several air cushions to right the truck, which took about two hours.  Several fire engines responded to the crash, as well as the Hazardous Materials team.

Walker suffered only minor cuts and bruises. He will be charged with driving too fast for conditions.

The exit ramps at Clark Avenue reopened just after 4:00 Saturday afternoon.
