Eunice isValdosta's youngest city councilman

November 26, 2003

Valdosta - Voters elected the youngest councilman in the city's history.

18-year-old John Eunice won the city council at large seat with 61 percent of the votes in a runoff election. He's looking forward to working with the new mayor and council, and says his youthfulness won't be a problem. "I think it gives me the unique opportunity to bring a fresh perspective to the city, and I'm looking forward to working with an excellent team and helping this city continue to move in a positive direction," said Eunice.

Eunice says economic growth, transportation, and infrastructure improvements are the most pressing issues in Valdosta.

He defeated Incumbent Richard Stewart who had been involved in city government for more than 40 years.
