Albany -- Thousands of new military veterans are returning from the war in Iraq. Veterans Services say this is a good time for all vets to make sure they are receiving all the benefits to which they are entitled.

December 11th is Supermarket of Veteran Benefits Day in Albany. From 10 until 3 that day at the Albany Civic Center, representatives from agencies that handle benefits will be there to answer questions.

Georgia Commissioner of Veterans Affairs, Pete Wheeler, said "This war we are having in Iraq. Everyday they are returning home. Many of them are wounded. Some lost legs, arms and eyes. And we want to do all we can to assist the Georgia veteran, particularly here in Albany December 11th, in getting all the benefits to which they may be entitled to."

Approximately 900 new veterans return to Georgia each month. The Supermarket of Veterans Benefits Day will be December 11th at the Civic Center.
