Valdosta - Famous weatherman Willard Scott helped ring in the holiday season at a South Georgia amusement park Friday night.

Scott was special guest at Wild Adventures Christmas Wonderland kickoff. He lit the Christmas tree and read the Christmas story.

Scott says he loves the southern cooking and hospitality, and is glad to start the holiday season in South Georgia.  "I've been to Valdosta before and I love it," said Scott.  "Its a beautiful town, I've had friends who lived here, and its in a perfect location."

The Tallahassee Boys Choir also performed at the celebration.

Christmas Wonderland includes more than five million lights and countless holiday shows. It runs through December 30th.
