Santa Barbara, Ca.- The Thomas University women's soccer team scored two early goals and then held on for a 2-1 win over Northwood University in the first round of the NAIA women's national soccer tournament.
Emer McAuley scored her 31st goal of the season in the opening minutes of the match.
Northwood scored to tie the match but Thomas University got what proved to be the game winner
from Donna Cheyne just past the 30 minute mark in the first half.
Thomas University (15-5-2), seeded 13th in their first national tournament appearance, will play 4th seeded Concordia University on Thursday afternoon.
