Cairo-- Police are investigating the death of 33-year-old Corinthians Johnson as a homicide. She was found dead on her niece's front porch.

Andrea Thornton says she and her neighbors are scared. "Everyone is scared and shocked because they never thought something like this would happen over here, because like you say, everybody pretty much know everybody around here."

When she walked out of her house Wednesday morning she saw the body of Corinthians Johnson the porch. She knew something was wrong, so she called 911. "I didn't hear anything and I didn't see anything but about 5:30 that's when I noticed she was out here and we called in."

But she wasn't the only one who woke up to a murder scene. "And that's scary to walk out your front door and see someone laying like that... it's terrible," said neighbor Sereca Boykin.

Terrible for the victim, the family and the friends. So terrible that Andrea is thinking about leaving.

Police say Johnson had three sons. Anyone with information about this crime should contact the Cairo Police department at 229-378-3096.
