Albany -- The trial of an Albany man charged with kidnapping and raping four women continued Wednesday, after the defendant said he did not want a mistrial declared.

Calvin Davis told Judge Stephen Goss that he wanted the trial to continue, despite new evidence being introduced by the prosecution Tuesday. Testimony was delayed while the defense examined the new evidence.

Davis' lawyer, Leisa Terry said "I feel comfortable that I am able to move forward. And he has indicated to me that he feels comfortable as well. And he would like the opportunity to defend himself against these charges."

Testimony began in Davis' trial Wednesday morning.

A jury of three men and eight women is hearing the case, which is expected to take three days.
