(Valdosta-AP) -- Barrett Wilkes passed for 328 yards and three touchdowns, twice bringing Valdosta State from behind, to lead the Blazers to a 30-17 victory over West Georgia today.
The Blazers (10-1) took their first lead 40 seconds before halftime on Wilkes' 22-yard pass to Tyrone Jordan for a 16-14 lead VSU never relinquished.
Wilkes -- who completed 22 of 29 passes -- stretched the lead early in the third quarter when he connected with Andre Zellner on a 25-yard scoring play.
He completed the scoring early in the fourth when he combined with Bama Adams on a 65-yard touchdown pass.
The fifth-ranked Blazers now await their fourth straight invitation to the Division Two national playoffs. The 16-team field will be announced tomorrow afternoon.
