Mount Vernon-Georgia Alabama Carolina Conference regular season volleyball champion Georgia Southwestern dominated the post-season awards at the conference tounament but is coming home with a four place finish.
The Lady Hurricanes lost a five set match to Brewton-Parker but bounced back to eliminate Brenau in three games.
However, the Lady Hurricanes, who beat second ranked Southern Wesleyan last week, lost to them in three games.
The good news for Georgia Southwestern is they earn an automatic bid to the region tournament next weekend at Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama.
As for the awards, GSW's Michelle Haywood was named coach of the year and Nathalie Sherrod was the freshman of the year.
Sherrod was a first team all conference selection along with Ashley Wilson and Jessica Espinoza.
Wilson, Espinoza, Laurel Kloth and Sue Givan were also named to the GACC's All-Academic team.
