ALBANY - J.W. Woods, 54, of Fitzgerald, was driving a 1994 Ford Thunderbird east on Highway 206 near Peacock Road in Ben Hill County when he crossed the center line.

He side swiped a semi driven by Dwight Tanner, 65.

Tanner told State Troopers he attempted to avoid the car but it struck his rear wheels.  Woods was dead at the scene and had to be cut from the mangled car.

Family members say Woods had a history of blacking out but State Troopers would not speculate as to whether that was the cause of this accident, which happened around 8 a.m.

No charges will be filed.
