Pickup driver killed in bus collision

November 13, 2003

Worth/Dougherty Line-- A pickup truck drifted across the center line on County Line road and hit the school bus head on.

Worth County school bus number 67 was running its pickup route around seven a.m. when the wreck happened. No one on the bus was seriously hurt, but the driver of the pickup truck, 24 year old Christopher Brunswick, was killed, his four year old son critically injured.

The school bus was headed south on County Line Road, the pick up truck was headed north on County Line road, when for some reason, the truck crossed the center line and caused the collision," said Sgt. J. C. Phillips of the Dougherty Co. Police Department.

Troopers don't know why the truck crossed the center line. The four year old boy who was in the truck is in a coma tonight at Eggleston Children's Hospital in Atlanta. There was a delay in getting him to Atlanta because this high wind made it too dangerous for a LifeFlight chopper to fly.
