Lake Park - Big technology improvements are underway for one South Georgia Police Department.

All Lake Park patrol cars are now equipped with U.S.A. Software computers. The new technology provides Internet access and allows police to scan license and print reports from their cars. "This makes our job much more efficient and convenient," said Chief Bert Rutland. "We're the first in the state to have this kind of system and its going to be a huge benefit to this department."

The department has been working to get the new system for two and a half years. It cost about $26,000.00 and was paid for with city funds.

The system works off Southern Linc towers.
