The Lee County Sheriff's Department is now working with the Albany Crime stoppers. The Lee County Sheriff's Department asked to join the Albany Crime-stoppers program. The Sheriff's Department believes it will be a helpful tool in closing some cases.
Albany - Students at ASU honor veterans with song and prayer. Albany State held a Veteran Memorial Service on Tuesday. The band and chorus performed patriotic music.
Speakers reminded the students the freedoms they enjoy now came at a high cost. "College is a time for students to be very free and that comes thanks to veterans who sacrificed so much before many of these students were even born," Clifford Porter, ASU.
The ceremony ended with "TAPS" and a moment of silence to reflect on the price veterans paid and are still willing pay to protect America.
