UGA fundraising is taking a hit

November 10, 2003

Albany - The University of Georgia's largest ever fundraising effort may be hurt by controversy surrounding the College's President.

A $500,000,000 "Archway to Excellence" Campaign may be cancelled because many donors say they won't give a dime until President Dr. Michael Adams is off campus. Critics say Adams misused UGA Foundation money and should not have decided not to extend Athletic Director Vince Dooley's contract.

If more people don't start writing checks to the "Archway to Excellence," the campaign coordinator says the fundraiser may be indefinitely suspended.
